A 1940’s bungalow set within the heart of the National Peak District. The scheme includes the demolition of the existing ‘out of character’ bungalow and construction of a partially sunken split-level four bedroom substantial statement contemporary property inclusive of a cinema room and entrance gallery to the open plan living area below. The property is situated in such a position it will enjoy extensive 365 degree views of the Peak District.

Alice intuitively understands the needs of the client and works hard to deliver these in the context of site constraints. This project was in a sensitive location at the heart of the Peak District National Park. She delivered a contemporary design for a replacement dwelling that took its cues from the local vernacular so that it harmonised with the landscape of the area. We obtained planning permission for a significantly larger dwelling on the site via delegated powers and with no third party objections – a feat almost unheard of in this part of the world!
